Exploring the Hebrew Sources of Faith

The Hebrew Matthew Project

One of the goals of Makor Hebrew Foundation is to make the Hebrew sources of the New Testament available to the general public. We have set as our first goal a publication of the Hebrew version of the Gospel of Matthew along with an English translation. A prelimary edition of Hebrew Matthew already exists but it only takes into account evidence from 9 Hebrew manuscripts and the English translation is often based on the Greek even when it differs from the Hebrew. Makor Hebrew Foundation has teamed up with Nehemia Gordon, one of the top researchers in the field of the Hebrew New Testament, who has so far uncovered 28 manuscripts of Hebrew Matthew. We need your help to carry this project forward. This research involves countless hours of painstaking work to transcribe, compare, and translate all the available manuscripts. There may be more manuscripts out there but we need your help to fund this research. To support the Hebrew Matthew Project please click on the "donations" button on the right hand side of this page.
